How Fleeto's Vehicle Itinerary Increases Fleet Efficiency

Fleeto's itinerary feature allows fleet managers to access and analyze the route history of any vehicle in their fleet. By selecting a specific vehicle and date range, the interface displays a detailed map of the vehicle's movements, including start and stop points, distances traveled, idle times, average and maximum speeds, and instances of harsh braking, acceleration, and cornering.

Fleet management is essential for companies that depend on vehicles for their daily operations. Inefficient paths, unauthorized stops, and bad driving habits can increase costs, reduce productivity and even safety issues. Fortunately, the itinerary feature of Fleeto's fleet management system provides a powerful tool to improve fleet efficiency.

One of the key advantages of the itinerary feature is its ability to monitor driver behavior. Fleet managers can identify patterns of unsafe driving, such as speeding, excessive idling, or harsh braking, and take corrective actions accordingly. This not only improves safety but can also reduce fuel consumption and maintenance costs.

The itinerary feature also provides insights into fuel consumption patterns, allowing fleet managers to optimize fuel efficiency by minimizing idle time, reducing unnecessary mileage, and ensuring appropriate vehicle load capacities.

Invaluably, the itinerary feature assists fleet managers to perfect future route planning. Past routes and traffic trends are examined to find efficient routes and reduce journey time along with congestion. This results in a great boost for a business's overall fleet efficiency.

Fleeto's itinerary feature has the ability to generate route histories for an extended period, such as a month. The interface displays all stop points and the entire route history on a map, providing a comprehensive overview of the vehicle's movements. Fleet managers can access detailed information for each run, including start and end times, dates, distances traveled, harsh driving instances, maximum and average speeds, and more.

Besides this, Fleeto features a downloadable itinerary report providing an in depth summary of vehicle progress including lengths of journey times and idle times for the chosen duration.

Let us understand this by an example:

Accessing the Itinerary Feature

To access the itinerary feature, you need to:

  • Click on the Vehicles tab.

  • Choose Itinerary.

Here, you'll find the interface where you can select the vehicle you want to view the itinerary for.

Selecting the Date Range

You'll also need to specify the start and end date. For this example, let's view the itinerary for one day: the 1st of May. Specify the date, then click on Open Route. This will load up the route history of the vehicle for that particular day.

Interface Overview

Once loaded, the interface provides a quick summary of the vehicle's activity on that day:

  • Total Travel Time

  • Total Distance

  • Idle Time: Displayed as a part of the summary.

  • Average and Max Speed: Shown for the day.

  • Harsh Braking, Acceleration, and Cornering: Number of occurrences recorded.

Detailed Route History

For instance, if a vehicle starts its journey at 9:32 a.m., you can click on the starting point on the map to see specifics. The vehicle might run for 5 minutes, covering 0.28 km at an average speed of 23 km/h and a maximum speed of 53 km/h, stopping at Point #1. Each subsequent stop like Stop #2, Stop #3 is similarly marked, providing insights into the journey's details.

Monthly Itinerary Analysis

Fleet managers often review the itinerary over a month to monitor performance and make data-driven decisions. Generating an itinerary from April 1st to May 1st, for instance, shows all stop points and route history for that period. This data is crucial for evaluating vehicle and driver performance, with metrics like total stops, start and end times, distances traveled, idle times, and instances of harsh driving.

Benefits of the Itinerary Feature

Performance Evaluation

  • Route Optimization: By evaluating past routes, deviations such as unauthorized stops or inefficient detours can be identified and corrected.

  • Driver Behavior: Monitor speeding, braking, and idling patterns to address unsafe driving behaviors.

Fuel Efficiency

Although our demonstration vehicle lacks the fuel module, vehicles equipped with this module provide insights into fuel consumption. By analyzing this data, opportunities to reduce fuel consumption can be identified, such as minimizing idle time and optimizing vehicle load capacity.

Route Planning

Analyzing past routes and traffic patterns helps in planning more efficient future routes, reducing travel time and congestion, and improving overall fleet efficiency.

Generating Detailed Reports

For a more detailed summary, click on the Download button to access the itinerary report. This report provides comprehensive data for any selected period, allowing for in-depth analysis and better decision-making.

In conclusion, Fleeto, fleet management system's itinerary feature is a powerful tool for fleet managers seeking to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety. By providing comprehensive data and analytics on vehicle movements, driver behavior, and route optimization, this feature empowers businesses to make informed decisions and implement strategies that streamline their fleet operations.
